IOL European Muslims Live Dialogue with the Chair of MCB's Youth Committee

IslamOnline.net(IOL)’s European Muslims Page is hosting Mujibul Islam, chair of the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB)’s Youth Committee, in a live dialogue on Sunday, September 14, at 12:00 GMT.

Our guest will be unveiling the way the British Muslim youth spend their daily lives in Ramadan. During the one-hour live session, the challenges and activities that the Muslim youth in UK encounter during Ramadan will be explored more fully.

Mujibul Islam is a mathematics graduate from the University of London, who did his teacher training in the prestigious Institute of Education, University of London. Currently, he is a qualified Secondary Mathematics teacher teaching in a comprehensive secondary school in London. He is also a teacher at Saturday Islamic School.

Islam is the chair of the Muslim Council of Britain (MCB)’s Youth Committee. Muslim Council of Britain is a national representative Muslim umbrella body with over 500 affiliated national, regional and local organizations, mosques, charities and schools. The MCB is pledged to work for the common good of society as a whole; encouraging individual Muslims and Muslim organizations to play a full and participatory role in public life.

He was one of the founding members of the Muslim Student Awards in February 2001. The Muslim Student Awards acknowledged, rewarded and celebrated Muslim student achievement in various fields of academia and student life.

In 2005, he established Food4Thought Study Support in London, a comprehensive study support helping young people achieve better in academia through academic, physical and social activities.

Islam was also a joint secretary and an executive member of Young Muslim Organization UK, a national grassroots organization working with young Muslims.

Moreover, he is the director of Spring Foundation [SF] delivering high quality tarbiya courses. He is a trustee and secretary of the Muslim Safety Forum (MSF), an organization seeking the safety and security of British Muslims. The MSF is an umbrella body which is the key advisory body for the Metropolitan Police Service and Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) on issues concerning British Muslims.
